![]() ![]() ![]() Ted and others have built fixed pattern sets on their discs for Lightspace to create 3D LUTs as an example. CalMAN sends an RGB value to the gen and it creates that on the fly. CalMAN can measure up to 10,000 points and you really want a pattern generator for that type of work. If you want to create a 3D LUT in CalMAN, then there are not enough patterns on the disc for that because it is dynamic and the windows used change based on display linearity. You don't need dynamic metadata for calibration. All the patterns needed for that are on our disc as well as others for HDR10. ![]() With the Samsung's you can adjust white balance (grayscale) and CMS. You should email Portrait Displays support and ask about your display and CalMAN autocal. Not having get commands makes it really difficult to know the current values of the controls, so in that case we would do a factory reset and keep track. I had added support for the previous year, but it only had set commands and not get commands. I forget if 2016 or 2017 is the first model year autocal was supported on CalMAN publicly for Samsung. Sometimes this requires a customer or reviewer to point out a deficiency in a display. We wanted to provide a tool that a display manufacturer can use to make a better display. We cover several markets (enthusiast, reviewer, calibrator and display manufacturer) so we don't call it a calibration disc.
